About Megan
I’m Megan Monger, MA, LMFT, PMH-C, a licensed marriage and family therapist in California. I specialize in working with women and couples before, during, and after birth, as well as individuals navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional overwhelm. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming and culturally sensitive therapist, committed to creating a safe, inclusive space where all identities and experiences are respected and valued.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is collaborative, warm, and honest. I work to create a space where you feel genuinely understood and supported — and where we also stay focused on meaningful growth and feeling better in your life moving forward.
I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up as your full self. I’m direct, communicative, and real in the room. I often use humor, plain language, and yes — sometimes I curse — because authenticity matters. You don’t need to edit yourself here, and you don’t need to perform being “okay.”
At the same time, I won’t just nod along. When it’s helpful, I will gently (and sometimes directly) challenge patterns that keep you stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed. Growth often requires both compassion and accountability, and we work together to balance those intentionally.
I believe strong therapy is built on clear communication, mutual respect, and trust. You are the expert on your life; my role is to walk alongside you — offering perspective, challenge, and support — as you move toward a life that feels more stable, connected, and true to you.
